Fugu

Fugu is a secure file transfer application used for accessing host resources on campus such as comp.uark.edu, cavern.uark.edu, www3.uark.edu, or gizmo.uark.edu (SFTP is not enabled by default on gizmo).

Requirements
Fugu runs on Mac OS X 10.1 and 10.2, but not on version 10.0.

Download Fugu

Open the Fugu Program by double-clicking the application.  Fugu displays a login window.

1. In the Connect to box enter the remote host name: comp.uark.edu, cavern.uark.edu, gizmo.uark.edu, www3.uark.edu, or another server name.
2. For Username enter the account username (your comp account uses your UARK username).
3. Leave Port blank.
4. In the Directory box enter /home/username (for example: /home/jsmith)
5. If this is a host you will use often, click the Add to Favorites button.
6. Click the Connect button.
7. You will be prompted for your password. Enter the account password and click Authenticate.
8. Fugu displays a window with your local (Mac) files and your remote files. Note that the left side shows the icon Local Home with local files listed below it, and the right/remote side is identified with a Remote Home icon. File folders can be double-clicked to list their contents. You can traverse directory structures by clicking the Home icon to return to the top of that directory structure. If you click on a file or directory, you can click the Info icon to set permissions.
9. Drag and drop files from local to remote or from remote to local to transfer.

Use the New Folder icon to create a local or remote directory.

Click Disconnect to end your session.

The next time you start Fugu you can use the Connect to pull-down menu to choose from the list of recent connections or the "globe" pull-down menu to choose from your list of Favorites.
