University IT Services Server Downtime Schedules
Network ServicesNetwork maintenance takes place every Saturday, beginning at midnight until Sunday noon and can affect anything from the campus backbone, UARKnet, to departmental networks that are maintained by Network Services, to the file servers at ADSB or any other network resource, such as the UA web site, normally accessed over the campus network. Therefore, access to these may not be available during these periods.
MainframesADMIN, UAFMVS1 Saturday mornings (8:00-12:00) for system maintenance. This does not occur every Saturday. Call 575-2904 for verification.
ADMIN, UAFMVS1 Every Sunday morning (00:00-10:00) for system backups.
Informix databaseInformix is taken down each morning at 4:00am for backups. The backups may take 1-2 hours. The Informix database is used for the following online applications:

Windows Servers
The standard time for routine maintenance on all Windows servers managed by University IT Services is Saturdays, from midnight to noon. Typical maintenance done during this period includes OS and application patches, driver updates, firmware updates, etc. Work such as significant hardware or software upgrades will continue to be planned and scheduled for times that have minimal impact on the users of that particular system. Whenever planned work is being done that involves downtime or potential downtime, an announcement is made via email. Notification of routine maintenance, as well as significant upgrades, is made via the following listserv mailing list: WINTEL-ANNOUNCE@LISTSERV.UARK.EDU Additionally, any significant upgrade work will be announced via these two listserv mailing lists: TECHTALK@LISTSERV.UARK.EDU UITSNEWS@LISTSERV.UARK.EDU
