U of A University Information Technology Services
Web Conferencing at the UAWeb Conferencing allows users to collaborate, hold group meetings, and make live presentations over the Internet. Unlike Webcasts, Web Conferences are interactive. Participants cans share applications and their desktops. The Audio for Audio Conferencing is done via telephone conferencing. For Audio Conferencing and Web Conferencing, the University of Arkansas has a contract with Brevient for their MixMeeting package. The package consists of two components, MixVoice Audio Conferencing and MixWeb Web Conferencing. A department wanting to use either the web conferencing and/or audio conferencing service will issue its own purchase order to Brevient referring to the University contract already in place. Brevient will then invoice the department monthly for its use of the service using the address on the purchase order. Bills will be based on minutes of service used at the rate of .06/minute per participant for web conferencing and .06/minute per participant for audio conferencing with no minimum usage required for either service. Brevient provides training for MixMeeting and is the first point of contact. To arrange a demonstration and/or training contact: Second tier support is available from the MMRC. You can contact the MMRC by calling 575-7401.
