ICPSR

The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), established in 1962, is an integral part of the infrastructure of social science research. ICPSR maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction, and offers training in quantitative methods to facilitate effective data use. University of Arkansas, Fayetteville is a member of the ICPSR. Currently, the membership fee is paid by various funding; thus, no cost to UA faculty, staff, and students.

ICPSR Direct is a service providing direct access to ICPSR data for all students, staff, and faculty at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. With ICPSR Direct, data and documentation can be downloaded directly to a user's computer without having to route a request through University IT Services. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To access ICPSR, users can go to ICPSR web site and search for data by keyword or research subject area. Once the search yields results, click on the 'Downloads' link. To complete the download, the user must type in his/her email address where requested and follow the screen instructions to continue. ICPSR Direct is only available through UA Network.
