Forwarding Email from cavern.uark.edu

You can forward email from cavern by creating a .forward file in the home directory of the cavern account. The .forward file should be a plain text file saved with .forward as the filename. The file should contain only the address(es) to which you would like the email forwarded. You can use SSH (Macintosh SSH or SSH for Windows) to log into your account and create the file in the account using the Pico text editor.

Type:
pico .forward
at the cavern% prompt and press Enter.
Note: If this command is not found, your account might require the full path to Pico, so type:
/usr/local/bin/pico .forward
at the cavern% prompt and press Enter.

Type the address to which you would like to forward the mail. Multiple addresses can be typed on separate lines in the file. Control/x will exit and prompt you to save the file. Press y to save; press Enter to accept the .forward filename.
