Using Entourage 2008 with Exchange at the UA (Macintosh)
Note: The following instructions are for configuring Entourage with Exchange. Exchange accounts are only available to faculty and staff and only by request. Visit exchangeinfo.uark.edu to request.

Setting your external email to forward to your Exchange mailbox
- Log in to the Account Administration page.
- Click the Mail Delivery Options link.
- Put a checkmark in the Enable forwarding option.
- Fill in your exchange user information in the format of:
"username@exchange.uark.edu" replacing "username" with your UARK username.
- Uncheck the option for POP3/IMAP4 mailbox. This should be left on until your Exchange account has been activated.
- Click Save to save your new settings.

Entering Your Account Information
If you have not used Entourage 2008 previously:
- Install Office 2008 for the Macintosh and install any available updates to make sure you have the latest version.
- Open Microsoft Entourage from the Applications folder or the Dock area.
- If prompted, select the option to make Entourage the default mail program.
- Select Configure Account Manually.
- At this point, go to step 4 of the following section.

Manual Configuration of Entourage 2008 settings:
- Click Entourage then Account Settings.
- Click New.
- Select Exchange from the Account Type drop-down list then click OK.
- Select the Account Settings tab.
- Fill in your name and uark.edu email address.
- Enter your uark.edu userid in the Account ID field.
- Enter:
uark.edu for the domain and fill in your password.
- Enter:
exchange.uark.edu in the Exchange Server field.
- Put a checkmark in This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL).
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Enter:
exchange.uark.edu in the Public folders server field.
- Put a checkmark in This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL).
- Enter:
aries.uark.edu in the LDAP Server field.
- Click OK. At this point it may take a few minutes for the exchange folders to synchronize.

Accessing the general UA Directory
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) provides a simple protocol that allows you to access and search email addresses on campus. Note: The Global Address List created during account setup will only display other uark.edu Exchange users.
- Open Entourage.
- Click Entourage then Account Settings.
- Click the Directory Service tab.
- Click New.
- For the Account Name enter:
UA Directory
- In the LDAP Server field enter:
acme.uark.edu
- Click the Options tab.
- In the Search base field, enter:
ou=People,o=uark.edu,o=UoA Note: Make sure that there are no spaces.
- Click OK.

Setting up rules (Filters)
Note: Rules created in Entourage 2008 are created client-side and will only run when Entourage is open. If you want to make server-side rules for Entourage you must create them from the Exchange web-client OWA (https://exchange.uark.edu) using Internet Explorer on a Windows computer.
- Click tools, rules.
- Click the Mail (exchange) tab.
- Select New.
- Fill in the criteria for which you want filtered and click OK.

Deleting Mail
To remove deleted email from your mailbox:
- Hold down the CONTROL key.
- Click the Deleted Items folder.
- Click Empty Deleted Items on the contextual menu, and then click Empty.
OR
- On the Tools menu, point to Run Schedule.
- Click Empty Deleted Items Folder.
Note: You can edit the Empty Deleted Items Folder schedule so that it automatically empties the Deleted Items folder at a time you specify — for example, when the deleted messages reach a certain age or each time you quit Microsoft Entourage.

Setting an auto-reply Out of Office (vacation) message
Entourage 2008 does not have a built-in option for setting Out of Office messages. To set an auto-reply, do the following:
- Log in to OWA at https://exchange.uark.edu/.
- Select the Options button at the top right corner.
- Click the Out of Office Assistant option on the left menu.
- Change the start and end dates you want the message sent to people inside the organization (uark.edu users) and people outside of the organization (external recipients).
- Click the Save button at the top left corner to confirm the changes.

Expanding Full Headers
Full headers are needed for error tracing and abuse reporting. If you have received abusive email and would like to report it, forward the email to abuse@uark.edu with the headers fully expanded.
To expand full headers in Entourage:
- While viewing a message, click View, Source.
- To send the full header, copy and paste the information into a new message.
