U of A Registered Student Organization (RSO) Accounts

Account requests and account password resets must be done by contacting the RSO director with the Department of Student Involvement and Leadership (under Student Affairs) at 575-5255. Registered Student Organizations can also have their home pages added to (linked from) the University of Arkansas site by contacting the RSO director.

Please read the Code of Computing Practices or the Summary of the Code of Computing Practices before accessing your accounts.

Log into the mail.uark.edu email server using your UARK username and password, and read your email using an email client such as UA Mail, XpressMail, Outlook, Thunderbird, Entourage, OS X, or Pine.

Cavern is the primary web server for the University of Arkansas's Registered Student Organization and departmental pages. Cavern runs Unix as the operating system. If you need an account on cavern to develop a new site for a UA organization, request this account using the Account ID Request Form available in the Online Forms section of Request Forms and Docs.  If your organization already has a web site, to edit the pages, you will need the username and password for that account. The authorizing representative who must sign the request form for this account will be the faculty advisor for the registered campus or student organization. For help in resetting passwords, linking your page, and changing ownership of an account, contact the RSO Director with the Department of Student Involvement at 575-5255. Web pages can be uploaded to the server using an HTML editor, and you can log into your cavern account using SSH Secure Shell, Mac SSH, or a file transfer option.

This server is available for hosting web pages utilizing ASP technology, however; cavern.uark.edu is still the main server for departmental websites at the U of A. Request this account using the Request for University IT Services Microsoft Web Services available in the Online Forms section of the Request Forms and Docs.

Windows SharePoint allows you to create team web pages for document collaboration, project management, and information sharing for easier communication. It also allows users to share documents, tasks, contacts, and events.
