Student Accounts at the U of A

You will use your UARK account username and password to access many University facilities. You can pick up your UARK username and set your password at the UARK Account Distribution Facility. Please read the Code of Computing Practices or the Summary of the Code of Computing Practices before accessing your accounts.

UARK accounts belonging to graduates and students leaving the University will be purged.

Log into the mail.uark.edu email server using your UARK username and password, and read your email using an email client such as UA Mail, XpressMail, Outlook, Thunderbird, Entourage, OS X, or Pine.

Log into the Integrated Student Information System at isis.uark.edu using your UARK username and password for class registration and schedules, grades, Catalog of Studies, and Schedule of Classes. Check here for ISIS information. For help with ISIS, email isishelp@uark.edu.

comp.uark.edu is a Unix server used for personal web pages, statistical applications, compilers, MATLAB, file storage and more. Log into your comp account with your UARK username and password using SSH Secure Shell, Mac SSH, a file transfer option, or a web editor.

Active Directory

Active Directory IDs using your UARK username and password are provided for students, faculty, and staff to allow access to Microsoft Networking resources on the University of Arkansas network and to the computers in the General Access Computer Labs.

A dial-up account can be used to log in to the University modem pools using your UARK username and password for Internet connection from home.

Cavern is the primary web server for the University of Arkansas's Registered Student Organization and departmental pages. Cavern runs Unix as the operating system. If you need an account on cavern to develop a new site for a UA organization, request this account using the Account ID Request Form available in the Online Forms section of Request Forms and Docs.  If your organization already has a web site, to edit the pages, you will need the username and password for that account. The authorizing representative who must sign the request form for this account will be the faculty advisor for the registered campus or student organization. For help in resetting passwords, linking your page, and changing ownership of an account, contact the RSO Director with the Department of Student Involvement at 575-5255. Web pages can be uploaded to the server using an HTML editor, and you can log into your cavern account using SSH Secure Shell, Mac SSH, or a file transfer option.
